Anika Rose is an American performer and actress. She is most famous for her character Tiana as the Princess, and the Frog's African-American Princess. The year 2011, Rose was recognized as an official Disney Legend. Rose is well known for her part as Lorrell Robinson, the character from Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on the 6th of September, 1971. She is an American actress and singer. The most famous role she has played is as Tiana, Disney's first African American princess, in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends named her one in 2011. Her other notable roles include her role in the lead role of Lorrell Robinson on the Oscar Award-winning Film Dreamgirls (2006) and also for her role as LaVerne Jukebox Ganner on The Starz program Power. The stage performances she has performed are well-known as well, especially her role as Emmie Thbodeaux in the Broadway musical Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award Best Featured actress in a Musical. The show also received her nomination for the Tony Award Best Featured actor in a play for the Broadway revival A Raisin in the Sun.
